Iowa Credit Union Foundation Awards $23,000 to Scholarship Winners

The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) recently awarded scholarships to eight high school students and four post-high school students as recipients of its Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to increased charitable support from Iowa credit unions, ICUF was able to double the number of scholarships awarded this year.
Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) recently awarded scholarships to eight high school students and four post-high school students as recipients of its Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to increased charitable support from Iowa credit unions, ICUF was able to double the number of scholarships awarded this year.
This year's post-high school recipients are:
- $2,000 to Na Mee, a member of Veridian Credit Union who currently attends the University of Northern Iowa
- $2,000 to Abraham Dickerson, a member of First Class Community Credit Union who currently attends Des Moines Area Community College
- $2,000 to Amber Rosenstiel, a member of Veridian Credit Union who currently attends Central College
- $2,000 to Allison Bermel, a member of Telco Triad Community Credit Union who currently attends Iowa State University
This year's eight high school senior recipients are:
- $3,000 to Alex Hefel, a member of Dupaco Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Western Dubuque High School, Dubuque, IA
- $3,000 to Yadira Martinez, a member of Community 1st Credit Union and a graduating senior at Mount Pleasant High School, Mount Pleasant, Iowa
- $2,000 to Jarrett Stodghill, a member of Community 1st Credit Union and a graduating senior at North Mahaska High School, New Sharon, IA
- $2,000 to Abigail Saylor, a member of Dupaco Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Southwestern Wisconsin High School, Hazel Green, WI
- $1,500 to Reegan Zinkula, a member of Power Co-op Employees Credit Union and a graduating senior at Grundy Center High School, Grundy Center, IA
- $1,500 to Conner Ambrosy, a member of DuTrac Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at North Scott High School, Eldridge, IA
- $1,000 to Katherine Snodgrass, a member of First Class Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Valley High School, West Des Moines, IA
- $1,000 to Chelsea Davis, a member of DuTrac Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Stephen Hempstead High School, Dubuque, IA
Applicants completed an online entry form and answered an essay question. This year’s question was:
Financial experiences, both positive and negative help shape our overall financial understanding and well-being. Share a financial lesson, event or experience that has influenced you or your family personally. If relevant share how your credit union played a role. With this experience(s) in mind, how do you plan to utilize your credit union during college and into your future?

Morrow Memorial Scholarship. This year’s scholarship finalists demonstrated a strong passion for their credit union and outstanding knowledge on the essay topics.”
