Murray Williams, CEO/Chairman
Murray Williams serves as board chairman and CEO of Affiliates Management Company (AMC). In these roles, Murray provides strategic leadership and governance oversight for AMC’s family of companies, board and executive team. He also serves as the President & CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL), AMC’s parent company. Murray has been with AMC/ICUL since 1996. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation through the American Society of Association Executives and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Program. Murray also received his MBA and a BA with honors from Iowa State University. He serves on the SHAZAM board and has served on the CUNA Strategic Services board along with other industry leadership roles. Murray has been inducted into the International Executive Volunteer Corps for the World Council of Credit Unions and is a recipient of the Leadership and Support Award by the Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals.
Travis Schipper, CFO
Travis Schipper is the Chief Financial Officer of the Iowa Credit Union League and Affiliates Management Company (AMC), the holding company for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL), where he oversees the financial management of ICUL, AMC and the AMC family of companies. Prior to joining ICUL/AMC in December 2021, Travis held positions as SVP Finance at CO-OP Financial Services, VP of Finance for the executive office of Kum & Go, VP of Finance in consumer lending at Wells Fargo, and also has past experience as a small business owner in Central Iowa. Travis holds a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA in finance and strategic management from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School).
Michelle Barker, General Counsel
Michelle Barker is the general counsel of AMC, where she provides company-wide contract management, human resource legal support, intellectual property strategies, and manages other legal and regulatory risk mitigation activities. Prior to joining AMC, Michelle was Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel of Lincoln Financial Group where she worked for the past four years. Previously, she was VP and General Counsel of American Enterprise Group/American Republic Insurance, a diversified mutual insurance company based in Des Moines, where she worked in various leadership positions within their legal team over eight years. Prior to her time at American Republic, Michelle spent eight years as an attorney/partner at a small private practice in Des Moines. She holds her Juris Doctorate with distinction and BA from the University of Iowa.
Chelsi Harbert, Vice President, Human Resources
Chelsi is the VP, Human Resources of AMC. She is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions including benefits, compensation, employee development, employee relations, recruitment, payroll, legal compliance and policy review. Chelsi has been a tremendous leader in her 10+ years at AMC, where she first started as a Lead Recruiter for the HR department. Over her tenure, Chelsi has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, dedication and a genuine understanding and commitment to AMC’s culture, values and goals. This is evident through her progressive leadership roles as Lead Recruiter, Recruiting Manager and HR Manager. Most recently, Chelsi has served as our Director of Human Resources and Culture, where she leads and oversees AMC’s HR department including compensation, learning and development, talent acquisition, performance management and our culture committee.
Matt Oakley, Chief Operating Officer
Matt Oakley is the Chief Operating Officer of AMC. He is tasked with providing leadership and strategic guidance for the ongoing growth and development of the AMC family of companies. Matt was previously Chief Marketing Officer for AMC. Prior to joining AMC, Matt was Chief Marketing Officer for B2E Data Marketing, where he led strategic growth and branding initiatives. He has also served in past roles as CMO for TMG Financial Services, and lead marketing teams at Kreg Tool and Marsh. Matt holds a Master's Degree from Webster University and a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State College.
Ashley Vanderheiden, Vice President of Administration
Ashley Vanderheiden serves as the Vice President of Administration for AMC and the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL). In this role, she supports the AMC CEO, manages governance matters for the AMC family of companies, and oversees the AMC administrative team. Ashley joined AMC in 2015 and served in a variety of roles within the legal department. Previously, she worked at a financial institution for four years where she started as a teller and rose to the role of branch manager. Ashley graduated from Simpson College with her Bachelor's Degree and was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame for Women's Soccer.
Justin Hupfer, Senior Vice President & CEO, PolicyWorks Iowa
Justin Hupfer is a Senior Vice President of AMC and is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership regarding public policy and regulatory affairs for all AMC companies. He also serves as the CEO of PolicyWorks. In this role, he is responsible for the overall operations, business development and achievement of client objectives for PolicyWorks. He previously served as Vice President of Government Affairs for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL), overseeing its federal and state government affairs activities and political action fundraising. Under Justin’s direction, ICUL’s political action committee and grassroots program consistently ranked among the most effective in the state. Prior to that, he worked on the Republican caucus staff in the Iowa House, staffing the House Commerce and Economic Development Committees. Justin received his law degree with honors from Drake University Law School and graduated from Grinnell College. He currently sits on the board of the Iowa Taxpayers Association and serves on the City of Johnston Board of Adjustment. Justin also served eight years as an officer in the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, earning the rank of Captain.
Adam Claypool, President & CEO, First Community Trust
Adam serves as the President and CEO of First Community Trust. He has 29 years’ experience in multiple financial services sectors, including investment management, investment banking, venture capital / private equity, financial technology and insurance. He has direct experience managing, transacting, or governing $1.74 billion of assets primarily on behalf of individuals, family-owned business, and institutional clients in highly regulated environments.
He earned his degree in Political Science and Economics and enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the University of Iowa. He was governor appointed to the Iowa Innovation Corporation Board, where he also served on the Governance and Audit Committees. Mr. Claypool serves and has previously served numerous non-profit, foundation and civic boards of directors, including investment committees.
John "Ogie" Sheehy, Global CEO, ViClarity
John "Ogie" Sheehy is the Global CEO for ViClarity. With a degree in Applied Physics and Electronics from the Institute of Technology Tralee, Ogie has a strong passion for technology. After he gained more than 16 years of experience working through the ranks of companies such as Hewlett Packard, IBM and Dell, he was inspired to create ViClarity's GRC management software to provide technology solutions to businesses that were not being serviced by the large technology companies. Ogie has led ViClarity Ireland since 2008 and successfully directed launches in several international markets including Ireland, U.K. and U.S. into sectors such as financial services, insurance and healthcare.
Víctor Miguel Corro, CEO, Coopera Consulting
Víctor Miguel Corro is the CEO of Coopera Consulting and has more than 25 years of experience working in international and cross-cultural environments in the private and non-profit sectors.
For over 5 years he has been at the helm of Coopera Consulting, a market analytics and cultural change consulting firm that engages organizations and prepares them to reach out and serve underserved market segments. Corro is co-founder and first Chair of the Credit Union DEI Collective, an expanding group within the credit union movement devoted to furthering DEI, a shared cooperative principle.
Victor is a first-generation immigrant to the U.S. and was born and raised in Panama. He came to study at the University of Wisconsin as a Fulbright Scholar. He has degrees in International Economics and Latin American Studies. He has worked in 90+ countries, is an avid photographer, serves on several boards, and currently lives in Wisconsin with his wife and two children.
